Big Week from August 27 - September 04, 2022 in Baden-Baden - Iffezheim:
Ladies Day in Iffezheim - T. v. Zastrow Mare Prize the top highlight
Baden-Baden/Iffezheim, August 31, 2022 (MH). It is the great goal of owners of a hopeful mare - to increase the value for breeding. This becomes possible above all in group races, such as the highlight on the penultimate day of the Great Week on Saturday, September 03, at the racecourse in Baden-Baden-Iffezheim. In the T. v. Zastrow Mare Prize (Group II, 2,400 m), 70,000 euros in premiums also await.
Three-year-old and older horse ladies meet in the highlight on Ladies Day in Iffezheim. It is teeming with top mares, such as Dr. Christoph Berglar's Amazing Grace, who only failed to beat the Derby winner and Grand Prix starter Sammarco in the Grand Dallmayr Prize in Munich. Her team engaged Olivier Peslier (49) from France, a star jockey with a worldwide reputation who is also well known in this country, not only thanks to his two Derby victories with Borgia (1997) and Dai Jin (2003).
India 2022 still without defeat
Waldemar Hickst, the Cologne-based trainer of Amazing Grace, also has the biggest rising star of recent weeks and months in Gestüt Ittlingen's India (E. Pedroza). Since the Adlerflug daughter has been in training with him, she has not yet had to tolerate an opponent in front of her in 2022, winning four races in a row, including two group tests with the Grand Prix of the state capital Magdeburg and the Dreamgirl Fürstenberg race.
With the Oaks d' Italia winner Nachtrose (B. Murzabayev), who the Cologne-based coach Peter Schiergen is fielding for the Nizza stable of the Freiburg private banker Jürgen Imm, the Karlshofen mare Atomic Blonde (C. Lecoeuvre), Gestüt Brümmerhof's Narmada (R. Piechulek) and the Röttgener mare Well Disposed (A. Starke), there are also four mares who fell short of expectations in the classic Henkel - Prize of Diana in Düsseldorf.
Wackenhut Mercedes Benz Fillies Cup for 25,000 euros
Of course, the other of the total of nine races (the first start is at 13:40) also know very much to please. Also in the Wackenhut Mercedes Benz Fillies Cup (list race, 25,000 euros, 1,400 m) it is the mares' turn. This is teeming with interesting guests from France. Iffezheim is represented by the outsider Artemia (W. Panov), engaged by Gerald Geisler.
Many owners are rooting for Goldana (R. Piechulek), who belongs to the racing stable Junge Besitzervereinigung. However, Dishina (B. Murzabayev), who like Derby winner Sammarco is owned by Park Wiedingen Stud, seems to be the first choice from Peter Schiergen's stable according to rider distribution.
Trial for the young mares
And mares are also vying for victory in the Etzean Stud Winter Queen Trial (10,000 euros, 1,600 m), albeit two-year-old ladies who are expected to qualify for the Prize of the Winter Queen at the Sales & Racing Festival on October 16. They include Bint Al Karama (E. Pedroza), owned by Dubai great Jaber Abdullah, who briefly looked like the winner on her debut in Munich. Gabriele Gaul, wife of Baden Galopp majority shareholder Peter Gaul, is attacking with the novice Elle (B. Murzabayev).
Of course, Baden Galopp again has attractions in store for the bettors. 20,000 euros will be paid out in the fours bet of the 5th race, 10,000 euros are to be earned in the 9th race if the first four horses are predicted in the correct order.
The program includes nine races. The first start will be at 13:40.
