Looking forward to the 2026 "Grosse Woche"!

Five days of racing filled with world-class competition, excitement, and a special atmosphere await you in Iffezheim from August 29 through September 6.

Every race day has its own unique character—featuring sporting highlights, a varied supporting program, and special experiences for all ages.

Opening Day

Action is finally back at the Iffezheim Racetrack! The 2026 “Grosse Woche” kicks off with the first day of racing, marking the highlight of the German horse racing season.

A total of eight exciting races are on the program. The sporting highlights are the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe Prize, a Group III race with a purse of 55,000 euros, and the Stall Siepenblick 2.8, a Listed race over 2,800 meters with a purse of 30,000 euros.

There’s plenty to do off the racetrack as well: Families can look forward to an extensive, free children’s program, while a wide variety of dining options on the racetrack grounds offer both enjoyment and variety.

WINE & BEATS After-Work Race Day

Get out of the office and into the racetrack experience: At the Wine & Beats After Work Race Day, top-class horse racing meets a relaxed after-work atmosphere, fine wines, and laid-back beats.

The sporting highlight is the Renate & Albrecht Woeste Future Race, a Group III race with a purse of 55,000 euros for up-and-coming thoroughbreds. Another top-class race awaits visitors: the Coolmore Stud Baden-Baden Cup, a Listed race for fillies with a purse of 30,000 euros.

Even before the first race, a pre-race concert featuring DJ Team MCM & Sax Rob will set the mood for this special race day. Sax Rob will also keep the energy high at the racetrack between races with his saxophone performances.

In keeping with the "Wine & Beats" theme, various wineries from the region will be showcasing their wines in the Gontard Garden, inviting visitors to discover and enjoy them.

Grand Prix Day & Grand Finale

For the grand finale of the 2026 Grosse Woche, visitors can look forward to horse racing at the highest international level. The absolute highlight is the 156th WETSTAR.DE Grand Prix of Baden, a Group I race with a purse of 300,000 euros and one of Germany’s most prestigious horse races. Thanks to the World Pool, the race day will be broadcast worldwide, once again placing Iffezheim in the international spotlight of horse racing.

Another sporting highlight is the Brunner Oettingen Race, a Group II race with a purse of 70,000 euros. The other races also underscore the exceptional quality of the final day: As a premium race day, they each feature a minimum purse of 15,000 euros.

Marc Marshall provides special musical and emotional moments . Together with the spectators , he leads a live rendition of the traditional “Badnerlied.” Another festive highlight follows in honor of the winners of the Baden Grand Prix: Marc Marshall sings live the national anthem of the country where the winning horse is trained; which anthem will be played that day is therefore decided right there at the racetrack.

And it’s far from over after the final race: At the big sing-along concert “SING & SWING” with Marc Marshall & Band, all visitors are invited to sing along, celebrate, and bring the Grosse Woche to a close in a special atmosphere.
