Grand Prix Soiree at Casino Baden-Baden the social highlight of the Grand Prix Week
Baden-Baden/Iffezheim, September 4, 2022 (MH). The 2022 Baden Galopp Grand Prix Soiree at Casino Baden-Baden was the social event on Saturday, September 3, the evening before the final race day of the Grand Prix Week for the 152nd Wettstar.de Grosser Preis von Baden.
In his welcome address, Stephan Buchner, Managing Partner of Baden Galopp, welcomed the political celebrities, including the new mayor of Baden-Baden Dietmar Späth, the mayor of Iffezheim Christian Schmid, Sven Siebert, the mayor of the partner municipality of Hoppegarten, and Kai Whittaker (member of the Bundestag) and expressed his thanks to the Casino Baden-Baden, the umbrella organization Deutscher Galopp, the Baden-Badener Auktionsgesellschaft (BBAG) and especially Celina Zindler, the event manager of Baden Galopp, who had organized the evening.
Of course, the 200th anniversary of horse racing in Germany was one of the cornerstones of the event, as Stephan Buchner quoted passages from Harald Siemen's recently published anniversary book, which referred to the races in Iffezheim, in a very entertaining manner.
But there were other highlights on this evening, which was hosted by Alexander Franke in his usual confident manner. For example, the short film about the Baden Grand Prix, which conveyed the emotions of this event and the racecourse, had its premiere.
Of course, culinary delights in the form of "finger food starters", "live cooking in the fire ring" on the terrace of flank steak and fillet of beef as well as Scottish salmon for the main course and tasty desserts, served by "The Grill" restaurant, were not to be missed.
In between, the starters in the 152nd Wettstar.de Grosser Preis von Baden were symbolically "auctioned off" (similar to a derby pool), the highlight of the season at the racecourse in Baden-Baden-Iffezheim with prize money of 200,000 euros, in which a duel between last year's winner and Arc winner Torquator Tasso and derby hero Sammarco is expected. But Alter Adler and Mendocino also attracted a lot of interest at this very special "auction". Thanks to the guests' willingness to donate, 14,333 euros were raised, which will go to a good cause to be determined by the person who "bought" the winner of the 152nd Wettstar.de Grosser Preis von Baden.
Finally, the guests were able to round off the evening at the casino's gaming tables and "test" their luck for the final day of the Big Week.
