Sales & Racing Festival from October 17-19, 2025 in Baden-Baden - Iffezheim:
Baden-Baden is looking for a "queen" for the grand season finale 2025
Baden-Baden-Iffezheim, October 16, 2025 (MH) - Two group races, young hopefuls for the future and great betting attractions - the season finale on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the Sales & Racing Festival at the racecourse in Baden-Baden-Iffezheim has it all once again.
The highlight for two-year-old mares in Germany - the Carla Kellner Future Race - Prize of the Winter Queen (Group III, 155,000 euros, 1,600 m) - is once again under the patronage of the Kellner family from Baden-Baden. The search is on for the favorite of the coming months for the first mares' classic in 2026, the German 1,000 Guineas. None other than Nicoreni, who also won the Henkel Prize of Diana 2025 after the 2024 Winter Queen, is the obligatory role model for the eight candidates.
As in the previous year, the competition is supported by horse owner Rainer Kellner, with his granddaughter Carla Kellner lending her name. Interesting fact: In addition to the prize money of 155,000 euros, the owners of the best-placed German horses will also receive a total of 53,000 euros.
Iffezheim hopeful in the game
Madame Magic (M. Cadeddu), trained by Fabian Xaver Weißmeier in Iffezheim, is also a representative of the local training center who finished fourth in a trial in Cologne, not far behind the second-placed Alsterperle (M. Seidl) from Röttgen, saddled by ex-jockey Maxim Pecheur. Henk Grewe, successful trainer from Cologne, offers Valzeina (A. Hamelin), the winner of a BBAG auction race from Dortmund.
The favorite comes from England
The English guest mare Sea The Storm (C. Fallon), who was an instant success in her home country and is likely to be the favorite, is certainly an enrichment to the line-up. Deia's Delight (R. Piechulek), who was presented by Sarah Steinberg from Munich, is still fondly remembered as the runner-up to Believe in Me, who subsequently put in another great performance in the Etzean Winterkönigin Trial at Iffezheim stud.
Group final in the B.A.U. Autumn Trophy
Before the winter break, the action in Iffezheim is once again in full swing. The Autumn Trophy (Group III, €55,000), supported for the first time by B.A.U. GmbH & Co. KG from Mannheim (Group III, 55,000 euros, 2,400 m) is another group highlight. A year ago, Crack Assistent put himself in the limelight here against the Iffezheim mare Tanami Starlet. The mare is once again taking part in a field of eight under Bayarsaikhan Ganbat. The Ittlingen-bred Lordano (R. Piechulek) already won the Grand Prix of Tattersalls here at the spring meeting and has the best prospects in terms of class. The same applies to Delgardo (A. Starke), who, as runner-up in the WETTSTAR.de - Preis der Deutschen Einheit, brings top form from Hoppegarten. The mare Nastaria (J. Bojko), who won a Swedish highlight, could also finish well ahead.
Allofs ace in top handicap
The program comprises a total of nine races, with the first start at 11:15 a.m., as the first four competitions will also be broadcast to France. 25,000 euros is the prize money in the level I class over 2,000 meters. Principe (S. Macredmond), who is co-owned by Klaus Allofs (together with Stiftung Gestüt Fährhof), is likely to be first choice once again.
Riders up to the age of 30 compete in the final race for the Mehl-Mülhens-Stiftung - Nachwuchsförderpreis. On this premium race day, all races are endowed with at least 15,000 euros. A total of 331,000 euros in prize money will be distributed.
Betting highlights en masse
Of course, Baden Galopp offers a number of betting highlights on the last race day of the year. Three four-way bets with guaranteed payouts of €10,000 each are on offer in races 3, 5 and 9. In addition, there will be 10,000 euros in the V4 bet in races 6 to 9.
